Nita grew up in her father's saree business. From the time she was young, she watched him handle every piece with complete knowledge and care — Benarasi, Tant, Jamdani — each one chosen for a reason, each one sold with its full story.

She has lived across different countries for over 25 years. She has seen every kind of fashion, every kind of trend. And through all of it, a Bengali handloom is the one thing that has never needed to prove itself.

Sumam's is named after her daughter. It is built on her father's knowledge. And it is opened for every woman in the world who deserves to own something truly handcrafted — not mass made, not repeated, not forgotten.
